| Biography
Lily Hibberd’s practice encompasses both visual and text-based work. Her projects are diverse but are each prompted by a specific experience, story or phenomenon, which is used to delve into various collective, historical, philosophical and psychological aspects of the topic. Many of these deal with perceptions of memory, time and narrative, like, ice and the breakdown of time; fire and memory loss; and sunglasses and recollection. Hibberd uses combinations of lighting, painting, photography, performance and sound to dramatise these works, and various literary texts and scripts frequently accompany her installations.
